Kymon Greyhorse is a Tongan and Navajo award-winning writer-director from Albuquerque, New Mexico. His debut short, I AM HOME, premiered at the 2023 Sundance Film Festival and led to a collaboration with renowned photographer Annie Leibovitz for IKEA. The film streamed on AMC+ as part of the "Indigenous Rising Stars" collection.
A 2022 Sundance Indigenous alum and a 2023 HuffPost Culture Shifter, Greyhorse tells stories rooted in Polynesian & Indigenous identity. In 2024, he was selected for NYU TISCH's Graduate Film Directing Lab, where he developed KOPE, a psychological horror/noir about uncovering buried truths.
In July 2025, Greyhorse was named a top 10 finalist in the inaugural Tyler Perry Studios Dream Collective and will travel to Atlanta to pitch KAKALA—a coming-of-age story about a Tongan teen navigating tradition, identity, and family expectations.
Written during the pandemic, a time of loneliness and isolation.
Dedicated to the matriarchal figures in his life.
