Experiencing Interruptions?

Hypnotic (ENG)

The eruption of the volcano of La Palma surprised the world by its virulence, destroyed villages, roads and plantations. The lava reached the ocean after traveling several kilometers, leaving behind a trail of chaos and destruction. This documentary shows us -at ground level and from the air- all the development of the eruptive phenomenon from its beginning, to the consequences on man and nature once lethargic.

Director Biography - Carlos Virgili

Carlos Virgili. Barcelona 1957.
His passion for islands has made him visit more than 85
different ones up to the present time, including
naturally enough the Canary Islands. It is not in vane that the Fortunate Islands have brought him
an abundance of luck. In El Hierro he gave the first
underwater press conference (recorded in the Guinness Book of Records) when presenting his latest book: “Underwater Photographic Manual. Secrets of a Champion”.
But it is precisely on the La Palma Island where he has reaped his greatest successes. In underwater video: 3 Open La Palma Island Contest, 2 Spanish
Championships (of the 4 he holds), a World Cup and
World Championship in the same speciality.
In addition, Carlos has been Spanish Champion in Underwater Photography, obtaining 2 bronze medals in
the world championship in this sport; precisely in
another island, Minorca.
His artistic specialities run from nature photography
through travel reports – especially islands and small
countries – and ending up in adventure sports imagery.
Risk and adventure reports, on land, sea and air. The proof of the great level of acceptance of his
artistic work are the more than 150 prizes and awards obtained in national and international competitions, and
the fact that his reports have appeared in more than
320 different international publications.
