Director Biography - Matt Torsell

Born in Columbus, Ohio, Matt Torsell is a graduate of Johns Hopkins University and currently resides in Baltimore, MD. When he is not making films, he works as a Baltimore City school teacher. He produces, writes, directs, and edits.

Director Statement

Hustle on Lombard is my first feature film and it is a true DIY film, financed with the help of family and friends, and made by a crew of friends and colleagues who all went to film school with me. Taking elements of arthouse cinema, crime dramas, and social issue films, Hustle on Lombard tells a powerful and timely story of mental illness, drug addiction and brotherly love. This a true piece of Baltimore independent film.
