Writer, animator, director and teacher, Bishop J. Rhone has a love for strange and fantastical elements in stories. Bishop creates tales that revolve around the concept of the "everyday oddity." After establishing a production company in 2023, he has produced seven short films, with "Howl" being his latest entry and official directorial debut. When not producing or directing, Bishop can be found writing screenplays, watching old cartoons on VHS, and dreaming up new ways to inspire the next generation of filmmakers.
"Classic horror films such as "Frankenstein," "Dracula," and "The Invisible Man," were major inspirations for the look of the film. The story came about as a result of my disdain for the hypersexualized female monster, and my experience as a black man. Often it feels as though unless I'm laughing or telling a joke, no one is listening. And that scares me."
