«Barcelona, near future. The city has drifted into authoritarianism: propaganda loudspeakers, police drones and breadlines that go on through the night. Kilian runs an illegal eviction agency. Jessy is an undercover intelligence agent. They have a plan: when the Olympic Port operation is over, they leave Barcelona for good.
Then comes Fer — terminally ill, six months to live, a retired civil servant who lost his family and waited two years for someone to act. Nobody did. He offers a hundred thousand euros per head. Kilian says yes. The two operations converge.»

Writer Biography - Fernando Gracia Ortuño

Fernando Gracia was born in Barcelona in 1963. A writer of varied background — including studies in Psychology, Culinary Direction and Industrial Mechanics — he has been writing fiction since the early 1980s. In 1984 he was a finalist in a short story contest at the Torre Llobeta Cultural Centre in Barcelona. In 2017 he published Holocausto Animal, a collection of noir and satirical short stories with Ediciones Carena, several of which had previously appeared in the leading Spanish noir magazine Sólo Novela Negra. In 2020 he published the dystopian noir novel Rehenes del Abismo (Hostages of the Abyss) with Distrito 93. The film adaptation is his first screenplay.
