Miles Mussenden is a British-born American actor and filmmaker whose work bridges mainstream television and culturally grounded independent storytelling. Trained at the New York Academy of Dramatic Arts, he began his career in New York City before building a wide-ranging body of work across film and television.
His screen credits include Marvel’s Cloak & Dagger (series regular), The Good Lord Bird, Bloodline, Army Wives, Tulsa King, Swagger, Based on a True Story, The Walking Dead, The Blacklist, and Stranger Things, as well as the DC series Doom Patrol, where he portrayed the super-villain Frenzy. He is currently recurring in the upcoming Apple TV+ series Cape Fear and stars in the forthcoming feature film Croatoan.
In recent years, Mussenden has expanded his creative focus into filmmaking, producing and directing projects that explore identity, legacy, and community through a distinctly urban and diasporic lens. His debut feature, Homage, reflects this evolution—drawing from lived experience to tell a gritty, character-driven story rooted in 1990s Brooklyn and Caribbean culture.
Beyond his work on screen, Mussenden is committed to mentoring at-risk youth through partnerships with local organizations. He continues to balance acting, filmmaking, and advocacy while developing new stories that push beyond traditional boundaries and amplify underrepresented voices.
Homage was born from memory—of a time, a place, and a culture that shaped who I am. Growing up between worlds, I was deeply influenced by 1990s Brooklyn and the Caribbean diaspora that pulsed through it. That era was loud, expressive, and unapologetic, but beneath the surface were stories of loyalty, survival, and the weight of choices that never truly disappear.
As a director, I was drawn to telling a grounded, character-driven story that reflects lived experience. I wanted Homage to feel intimate and raw—less polished spectacle, more truth. This film is a tribute to the people and communities who raised me, and to the legacy we inherit whether we ask for it or not.
With Homage, my goal was to honor the past while speaking directly to the present—creating a film that feels personal, culturally specific, and emotionally universal.
