History Blooms

In post-industrial Pernik, the earth still remembers the voices of the past. Beneath the ruins of the Palace of Culture, a woman discovers an ancient Oracle — a machine encoded with Bulgaria’s collective memory. Each flower she places inside awakens visions, songs, and prophecies. Past and future merge in a ritual of light, sound, and dust. When the final flower blooms, the city breathes again. History does not end — it blooms.

Jeffrey A. Brick is a Los Angeles–based filmmaker and healthcare IT professional whose work blends technology, folklore, and sound. Drawing on two decades in digital systems and a lifelong interest in experimental video, Brick creates AI-driven films that merge music, architecture, and mythology. His shorts have explored the intersections of memory, machine, and ritual, often transforming real-world data into poetic cinematic forms.
With Историята цъфти (History Blooms), he continues his exploration of post-industrial landscapes and cultural rebirth through AI visuals and Bulgarian techno-folk composition.
