The Hip-Hop Kid

This Hip-Hop History Comedy was partially shot under Los Angeles’ famous (but now defunct) 14th Street Bridge former major motion picture filming location. There, Michael Douglas Goodman stars as a young, hungry, rambunctious, Hip-Hop hopeful seeking the tutelage of down-and-out old school, Hip-Hop great Kango - played by prolific SoCal actor Phillip E. Walker. But wanna be rapper Benji finds far more than he bargained when he meets Sunny, an attractive, edgy, female skateboarder played by Salina Marie Carter, who tears the house down at the movie’s end. Ron Duncan’s educational film Previewed at Hollywood’s famous TCL Chinese 6 Theatre and WORLD PREMIERED at New York City's Harlem International Film Festival, en route to Miami Independent Film Festival competition, Atlanta's Rejected Reel Film Festival and #RoxFilm20! in Boston’s Museum of Fine Arts. All preparing for a 2019 Worldwide Black History Month celebrations tour and beyond!

    Michael Douglas Goodman started acting at the age of three. When his family realized his immense acting ability, they moved him from Annapolis, Maryland to Los Angeles to kick start his career. Ever since then, Michael has landed several national commercials with DISNEY, INFINITY and PANERA BREAD and showcased his acting ability in the short films, WHEELZ and FAMILY GAME NIGHT. Michael is a handsome, smart and extremely talented actor at the tender age of twelve with a great future ahead of him. And when Michael's not auditioning or studying hard in school, you can be sure to catch him riding around performing tricks on his skateboard.

    Salina Marie Carter has been writing and creating for as long as she can remember. But a 2nd grade photography class is what first placed her behind the camera. Fine tuning her body of work, she earned a California State University-Los Angeles BFA in Broadcast Journalism: Television, Film & Media. Salina is a director, writer and producer who hails from Rochester, New York. She is known for acting in: Disney Descendants: School of Secrets, General Hospital, No Ordinary Family and Sons Of Anarchy. In addition to voice-over, theatre, film, commercial and TV projects, this creative is a songwriter/music producer with a captivating voice and message to present to the world. One of her songs, "Chemical Messenger" is receiving great industry reviews. So stay tuned for what Salina will create next!

Walker earned his MFA in Acting before performing in more than five hundred (500+) different productions during his first 3½ Tinsel Town years. As an actor/dancer he is a major player in today’s Hip-Hop music scene. For example, PhilE opened 2018 performing the lead role for Skx’s “Weekend Superstars” official music video https://www.rivnow.com/programs/music-video-skx-weekend-superstars?autoplay=true. Included in 78 official music videos Walker has shot to date are: Pulitzer Prize winning Kendrick Lamar’s 1st Grammy Awarded “I”, two Big Sean productions, “UpTown Funk” plus Phil is the 2nd person appearing in Beyoncé’s multi award winning long form official music video “Lemonade”. Theatrically, this June Phillip Walker will appear co-starring opposite "Arrival’s" five-time Academy Award nominated Amy Adams in the pilot of her HBO-TV mini-series “Sharp Objects”. Having just been seen as a co-star opposite Dan Stevens in the hot Marvel Television series “Legion” episode #207, as well Phillip Eugene co-starred as the lead’s father for Academy Award in Directing nominee John Singleton’s hit FX-TV series “Snowfall”. Being a full-time actor, Commercially Phillip will soon be seen in a major USA Food & Drug Administration internet promotion directed by five-time Academy Award nominee Darren Aronofsky. Further, Mr. Walker has spots currently running for: State Farm, Jimmy John’s, Nike and Popeye’s in addition to the Russian and European launch of Heineken 0.0 - where he was shot solo close-up by "La La Land’s" 2017 Cinematography OSCAR winner Linus Sandgren. Director Biography - Ron Duncan

New York City World Film Fair 2018 Best Director Ron Duncan began his career at MTV as a Production Assistant. He worked his way up to producing on the Network’s ground breaking, popular Hip-Hop show, “Yo! MTV Raps”. He also produced a half-hour special for HBO featuring Mary J. Blige plus several promos for that Station. Mr. Duncan studied film production at The New School of Social Research in New York City where he wrote and directed several short films. One, in particular, “Red Light Green Light”, was awarded by the Bronx Council on the Arts as the best narrative short in the Bronx where he grew up. Ron currently resides in Los Angeles where he has worked in the writing department on Fox award winning TV shows ”Glee”, “Scream Queens”, “American Crime Story: The People v O. J. Simpson” and “9-1-1" produced by Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk.
