Alter
Francis Galluppi is a filmmaker based out of Los Angeles, California. At a very early age he would remake scenes from his favorite films using in-camera editing. Galluppi is a self taught filmmaker who has written, directed, produced, edited, and scored all of his own films. The first short film he wrote and directed (High Desert Hell) went on to win several awards including the prestigious "Wes Craven Award" at the Catalina Film Festival. His follow up film (The Gemini Project) won "Best Science Fiction/Fantasy Short Film" at the Burbank International Film Festival.
I wanted to create something that had the look and feel of old 70's horror films like The Texas Chainsaw Massacre. When we were scouting locations in the desert, we saw a van that said “THE APOCALYPSE IS COMING. REPENT OR BURN IN HELL” in big letters on the side. That kind of scared the shit out of me. Not the words but the fact that someone felt so strongly about it, they decided to have it painted on the side of their van. When I got home that night, I reworked the story. I felt like I had found the perfect mechanism for Grants motivation to murder.
