Director Statement

HIDDEN grew out of a desire to tell an intimate story at the intersection of love, poverty, and power — a story where silence matters as much as language, and gestures carry the weight of systems. I wanted to follow characters who are marginalized not only by circumstance but by narrative convention — and to render them with tenderness, complexity, and contradiction. Using naturalistic dialogue, lyrical voiceover, and grounded performances, HIDDEN explores what it means to care for someone without being able to save them — and how that care still matters. The film resists triumphalist arcs in favor of something more fragile and, I hope, more honest.
