Director Statement

For a while now, I have been interested in directing. I’ve never done it before but it was something I was curious about and wanted to try. When Adam came to me with the idea for He’s Not Coming, I knew it was something I wanted to direct. It’s a different approach than typical rom-coms. As a group, we’ve often talked about our failed relationships and what went wrong. We really liked the idea of “Love is where you least expect it” and it may not be with who you expect either. When playing with the lighting, we really wanted to light the characters in a way that would foreshadow their relationships. I have enjoyed this production so much and it was the perfect gateway into the directing world. I really hope you all enjoy watching it as much as we loved putting it together!
