Seven-year-old Xiao Xu loves playing the magic carpet game with her grandmother. Through this game, she could move freely around the house. But on this particular day, Grandma refused to play with Xiao Xu anymore because she couldn't pull her along. Feeling lonely, Xiao Xu made a wish upon the magic carpet with all her might—"I'm so bored! Is there anyone who can play with me?" Unexpectedly, when the magic carpet covered Xiao Xu, something magical happened...!

Based on the director's own childhood experiences, Xiao Xu's Magic Carpet tells a whimsical, childlike tale of a grandmother and granddaughter.

七歲的小栩最喜歡和阿嬤一起玩魔毯遊戲，透過魔毯遊戲，她可以在家裡來去自如。但這一天，阿嬤卻因為拉不動她而拒絕繼續跟小栩玩樂。小栩覺得好寂寞，於是向魔毯用力地許願——「好無聊喔，有沒有人可以陪我玩呢？」沒有想到，當魔毯蓋住小栩時，神奇的事情發生了⋯⋯！

《小栩的魔毯》從導演的自身兒時經歷出發，講述一個充滿奇幻、童趣的祖孫故事。

Director/Cinematographer. Exploring the disconnect with my’s roots, I re-examine fading family bonds through a child’s eyes, preserving forgotten memories as aesthetic reflections to inspire young audiences.

導演、攝影師，創作多取徑於個人與家鄉的隔閡。期盼透過兒童的雙眼和感受力，重新梳理隨著成長而隱沒的家族情感。讓被遺忘的記憶在影像中續存，轉化為帶給孩子啟發的美學思辨。

Director Statement

Through this film, I hope to awaken the childlike innocence of the audience and invite them to reflect on their own childhoods. Behind every selfish and willful child, there is often a grandmother full of wisdom and patience, quietly guiding them to grow. This film is my love letter to grandmothers everywhere.

孩子們總能找到自我療癒的方法，我將小時候最愛的魔毯遊戲作為橋樑，連結故事裡的小栩與阿嬤，試圖找回兒時不假他人，便能在心裡的莊園開滿花朵的魔法。
希望透過這部電影喚醒觀眾的玩心，在每一個自私又任性的孩子背後，總有一位充滿童趣與包容的阿嬤，教會他們如何長大，這是一封給阿嬤的情書。
