HER FIGHT
As Liv gets ready for a night out her thoughts jump from reality to a fight club in her mind. We follow Liv on an explosive journey, through an outpouring of physical expression and embodied vivid movement, as she imagines a world where she can walk down the street freely without fear.

Phoebe is a Director & Movement Director for stage and screen based in East London, UK. She tells soulful and emotionally honest stories through film, movement and striking visuals. Having originally trained and worked professionally as an actor and physical performer she understands how the body can be a tool of expression. Phoebe visualises bodies in space and like a choreographer of ideas, considers how the body, composition and camera can fuse together to tell the story. Phoebe is neurodivergent and uses her unique ability to think outside of the box in all of her work.
From an early age, women and girls are taught to take precautions to protect themselves in public spaces from male violence. For me, in 2021 my awareness of this reached a point that felt suffocating. I felt like I had to be physically smaller in space and move with a sharp directness. It felt like a weight on my chest that I needed to shake off. This shift in my physicality became the starting point for my movement film Her Fight. The 9 minute 28 second short is expressed without words and told through the body. Often, I find movement can transcend words and can help me understand emotions that my words can’t quite grasp. Her Fight follows Liv as she navigates her way through this emotional journey.
To those in my life who inspired me in 2021 – and today, to take up space – thank you.
