Henri the Snail and the Watering Pail

In a backyard in Paris, a young boy, Michel and his snail friend, Henri are throwing a paper airplane, when the airplane takes an unexpected turn and falls down a well. The two friends must work together to retrieve the fallen plane. Henri, the snail, uses his bravery and ingenuity to help Michel recover the plane from the deep, dark well and rescue not only the airplane but himself.

'Henri the Snail and the Watering Pail' is a window into the friendship that develops between Henri and Michel. I wanted the audience to experience this adventure between Henri and Michel, in order to give them a better understanding why the two characters' true friendship is not bound by distance or obstacles they encounter later in the book, 'Henri the Snail Who Came by Mail'.
