Abby Lewis is a student filmmaker at the University of Oregon. She has been creating short films for a decade, ranging in topics from magical fantasy to sci fi to this documentary/drama short.
Inspired by the beauty of Oregon's natural lands, I decided to make this semi-documentary focused around one of my favorite nearby parks. I did a lot of in-depth research to find the story I wanted to tell, and created the Meriwether family as a way to tell that story compellingly. I really wanted to convey that success stories in nature conservation do exist and should be celebrated. I hope this short made you take a second to appreciate the effort that goes into keeping the natural parts of urban areas looking beautiful!
