Trigger Warning.

When Hannah Arendt reported the Adolf Eichmann Court Case, she invented the term "Banality of Evil". We think, that was only partly correct: It's the Heart of Darkness.

We started with the making of this film shortly after 10th 7th 2023 We feel honoured that Steven Spielberg is now - two months later - also sharing this idea.

Currently, it's a Roughcut. We would be glad, if our submission would be taken in consideration nevertheless. Heart of Darkness will be finished by the end of Dezenber 2023.

Heart of Darkness is a gesture of remembrance and respect for all the women, men, children murdered by Hamas-Pogrom-Commandos on 10th 7th 2023 and an expression of hope that the hostages will be liberated. Moreover it's a THANK YOU addressed to the Israeli soldiers who are fighting at the frontier line of the Free World, defending also us.

Heart of Darkness will hopefully catch the interest of Film Festivals. If so, the film will be - after its Festival-Tour - given Pro Bono to institutions and/or persons who want to show it to collect donations for the hostages and their relatives and supporters. We don't want to and we won't earn any money with the "Heart of Darkness".

Director Biography - Daniel Burkholz

Longtime Traveller, longtime lawyer, Price awarded author and producer. Together with his team Winner of the Gold Medal at the Agenda 21 Competition of the German government - Awarded with the Medal of Honor by Adelina Kondratieva, Interbrigader during the Spanish Civil War and Chair Women of the Archive, War and Exile Association. Awarded with the Medal of Merit by the Italian resistance fighters Giovanni and Onorina Pesce. Founder and owner of ROADSIDE Film, Nomads of Documentary, EDITION ROADSIDE and of the ROADSIDE ARCHIVES.

Director Statement

My mother, who was a catholic religion teacher, gave me the name Daniel and hoped that this "connection" to the Old Testament would mean something for my life. Well... Anyway..., also because of my biblical name I always had a good relation to Israel and its people.
