Health Systems of Indigenous Peoples
Within the Mayan culture, health is determined to the spiritual, physical and mental balance, thus achieving a full life, but not from a Western ideology that is nothing more than maintaining the organism without any disease or injury.
Hence the living essence of the various health practices in San Juan Comalapa, of maintaining harmony and balance of body, and soul all closely related to Mother Nature.
Mutual help, the value of life and the sacredness of the universe are some of the many values to be practiced next to the great missions of the therapists, midwives, physiotherapy who were entrusted to them since their engenderment and the work of keeping the legacy transmitting their knowledge from generation to generation in this spiral called life.
