Healing The Nation
Healing the Nation follows community members of the Toronto-based Aboriginal Healing Program as they rediscover their culture to heal from unresolved trauma. This empowering documentary dares us to think beyond mainstream medicine and embrace traditional ways for overcoming mental health and addiction issues.

Jack is a Toronto-based documentary filmmaker who seeks the stories we don’t usually see. Since graduating from Sheridan College in 2013, he has honed a raw, observant style through music videos and documentaries. His films include The Venus Project, winner of Best Social Impact Film, and Healing the Nation, which premiered at the Lunenburg Doc Festival. He recently completed his first feature and launched Oaika Films, uncovering untold stories that inspire empathy.
We want to thank our brothers and sisters from the Aboriginal Healing Program who have raised their voices to be heard. Together we will bring this film to the forefront to educate the public on alternative ways to heal from trauma, mental health and addiction issues.
