“Heading East – A bikepacking adventure"

“Heading East – A bikepacking adventure"
„The strain is not just physical, but rather psychological.“ Jochem, Carolin and Dennis have accepted the "Transost Challenge". They will take part in the first self-supported bikepacking race from Bayreuth in Germany to the Black Sea in Romania. It is the first time, that this route is officially being travelled by bike in one go.
It is a journey across 2.900km and 56.000m difference in altitude – „without knowing, what it is, that you will encounter“.
The challenge is far from a relaxing ride along the river Donau. The journey by gravel- and mountain-bikes takes our protagonists across more than 27 mountaineous regions in Eastern Europe, e.g. the Ore Mountains, Giant Mountains, the High Tatras, the Beskids or the Carpa- thian Mountains – home to lynxes, wolves and bears.
„I believe this will be an experience, that will give you something. What exactly that will be – no idea!“
The highlight of the film is the film music by renowned musicians such as singer-songwriter Katharina Busch (Bavaria/ Switzerland), the ex-singer of pop-band Polarkreis 18, Felix Räuber, and original film music by the musician and music producer Johannes Gerstengarbe (Dresden).

Luise Baumgarten

* During her studies at the Academy of Fine Arts in Dresden, Luise began experimen- ting in various media forms, which she employed to tell stories. Whether in film, theatre or art, Luise has worked her way through almost all creative stations, is passionate about concepts and ideas. With passionate zeal, she de- votes herself to the questions and intricacies, that make stories come alive. She loves the conception and writing of texts, stories and dramaturgies – an enthusiasm, she now also introduces into her production work at the ravir film production company.
