Hawkeye: The Broken Arrow

This short film is an experimental 3-part story that explores a younger, teenage version of Clint Barton (aka Hawkeye) before he joined The Avengers, honing his archery skills, whilst learning to fend for himself as an orphan in southern Iowa during the late 80s. In contrast to that, PART II & III explore Clint’s later life, during his time as the ruthless vigilante Ronin. A 5-year long period of time in what is known as “The Decimation”, which takes place after the events of Avengers: Infinity War (2018) [ where the super villain Thanos, eliminated 50% of all life in the universe, including Earth.] Clint’s wife and 3 children were among that half. Clint channeled his grief and anger into hunting down and ruthlessly killing any and all criminals that, unlike his family, had survived. He continued to do this for the next 5 years, operating under the new alias, Ronin. The film shows one of Clint’s first nights as the Ronin, where he infiltrates an amateur sanction of the Tracksuit Mafia (an organization run by Wilson Fisk aka Kingpin) held up in an old junkyard in South America. Ronin then intercepts a group of rogue Hydra agents who were scheduled to meet with the tracksuits for a deal that was going down. All 3 parts bridge together in a final scene that truly demonstrates the immense guilt & trauma that, despite having his family back, continue to haunt Clint to this very day.

Director Statement

This is a short fan-film, set within the Marvel Cinematic Universe, made with an immense amount of love and passion for the character Hawkeye. This film has been in production for over 3 years, since early 2022. I do not technically own the rights to these characters, however many many fan film have been made before and as I understand it is a legal grey area in terms of copy written content and fair use, as long as I am not receiving monetary gain, this film is perfectly legal to be shown and submitted to festivals. Please don't over think it, Hawkeye: The Broken Arrow a fan film made by an autistic fan of a multi-billion dollar corporation, and honestly not suing me is the very least Disney/Marvel can do after refusing me entry for the Hawkeye launch event premiere in LA in November of 2021 and causing me years of mental trauma, trauma which instead of holding me down, I used as inspiration to create this film as a testament to my skills as an actor, director and human being. Jeremy Renner himself, as well as many of the celebrities in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, have been supportive of me and my efforts so I don't think it's a very smart idea to fight me on this, Disney/Marvel will lose thousands of costumers/supporters if they see this is how fans are treated. My film was already unjustly taken down from TMDB & Letterboxd, despite there being many other films that violated their rules. Thank you for your time. I put my heart and soul into this film and just because it uses existing character doesn't make my filmmaking skills any less valid. If the end blooper/thank you reel is too long or unneeded it can be edited out. The same goes for the music, I did my best to sound mix myself but because I did use some existing music, I understand that may be a tricky legal area so I am more than happy to edit out or change any music if need be. Thank you
