Harvest of Souls
Harvest of Souls — Official Short Film (Psychological Horror / Indie Horror)
Logline
A couple’s dream home awakens an old hunger: a whisper in the basement, a garden that never forgets, and love eroded by the memory of the house itself.
Synopsis
In 2023, Sarah and David buy an abandoned farmhouse surrounded by cornfields and a pumpkin patch. What begins as their dream home soon turns into a nightmare. In 2025, Sarah finds a 1929 newspaper in the attic: a rural doctor arrested, bodies buried in the garden, the heads covered with pumpkins. His words: “The house made me do it.”
From that moment, David changes—his skin bleaches, his weight drops, his hair disappears—and he begins whispering to the cracked basement wall, where plaster reveals an ancient face.
Harvest of Souls is a psychological horror short film that blends indie cinema with true-crime atmosphere and Netflix-style interviews, exploring obsession, guilt, and the memory of a house that refuses to forget.
Creative Vision
🎥 Visual & Sound: Cyan shadows, desaturated olive mids, subtle amber highlights, fine 35mm film grain. Minimal, breathing camera movements; oppressive kitchens, damp basement walls. Sound design builds dread through silence and subtle textures.
⚠️ Content advisory: psychological horror, disturbing imagery, rural gothic mood. No explicit gore.
