I was born & raised in Turkey and originally studied Marine Transportation & Engineering Management. During the 7 years that I was working as Chief Officer on ocean-going vessels, I became increasingly fascinated by filmmaking: I started studying the history of cinema and also wrote scripts for three feature films.
Then in 2018, I studied Film Direction at the Istanbul Digital Film Academy and decided to continue my film education at Barcelona. I completed the Masters Programme in International Filmmaking at ESCAC (Escola Superior de Cinema I Audiovisuals de Catalunya) and in 2022 I won a scholarship to do a Master in Cinema Direction.
I set up my production company, Sarigül Films, and made various short films in Barcelona. My latest three film projects are proof-of-concept short films for my feature film scripts which I hope to make in the coming years.
