Director Biography - James Amuta

James Amuta is an award winning documentary filmmaker, writer, and publicist. His feature documentary, Nightfall in Lagos won the Best Documentary by an African at the Toronto International Film Festival, and was nominated for the Best Documentary award at the 2018 AMVCA.

His works have been featured on international platforms like CNN, National Geographic, Canadian Broadcasting Service, EL TV, MNET, etc. And he’s contributed additional footage to award winning TV shows like Hush, Jemeji, Battleground, and Eve on DSTV. He is the author of “Enigma: Beyond the Poet” – a collection of 84 poems published in 2007. He’s worked on several hit TV shows as series writer / publicist –including Dragon’s Den, 100% Naija (Season 2), Koko Mansion, Are You Smarter than a 10 Year Old, and The Apprentice Africa.
