Yuri Costa is an award-winning director and screenwriter. In 2020, Costa directed the afrosurreal short-film EGUM, which has screened at over 80 festivals, including Grand Prize of Brazilian Cinema. As an academic, Costa has a Master's degree on Afrosurrealism.
This Afro-Latino and queer themed short-film was produced independently by an Afro-Latino and queer crew. A mixture of groove with a supernatural love story, "His Body" pays tribute to Black love and Black music.
