Growth
The film follows a young person with gender dysphoria, and this dysphoria manifests itself as growths on the character’s skin. Over time, the growths become more frequent as the person begins to lose their sense of self, and once their disconnect with their own body reaches its peak, the growths coagulate and coat the person completely. These growths transform the person’s body into an enraged husk with them trapped inside, where they are forced to come to terms with their issues and their self-image.

Hello! I’m Mia, a partially sighted animator with an interest and focus on 2D techniques, more specifically character design. Being a transgender woman, I really value creating characters that people can associate with and I hope that in the future I can utilise this philosophy to create characters that make people feel seen and understood, no matter what projects I undertake. Not only this, but I’d also like to make these characters extremely individual and have the ability to show a certain flair that sticks in everyone’s minds when they see them. Thanks for taking the time to read!
