Grilled Cheese is one of three collaborations between Martin and Brown Sprenger. Prior to this, Tommy directed Connar in Temp-Topia, a 48 Hour Film Project turned short film. They are currently co-writing a feature-length comedy horror period piece.

“I wrote Grilled Cheese because I was feeling creatively dry between projects,” Connar shares. "So why not cook up something a bit gooey? It then became a fun ‘build the team montage moment’ as I assembled amazing friends and creatives.”
“Working with Connar is always a playful, collaborative experience. When she asked me to co-direct Grilled Cheese, it was a no-brainer,” said Martin. “We share similar creative interests and collaborative thoughts, so it’s as if we are about to finish each other’s— “Sandwiches,” quips Brown Sprenger.
