Got Cancer! - Survivors Journey
When cancer strikes at a tender young age there is a huge ambivalence about what survivor-ship means to the one dealing with cancer and for those offering support.
This journey using the technical prowess of a mix of animation, stop motion and real life documentary will touch you aesthetically, amaze you with the seamless flow across boundaries of 2D / 3D & 4 D and mostly leave you touched by the simplicity and power of the words of these inspiring youth who braved the jaws of childhood cancer. The film depicts the strength , perseverance , endurance & wisdom that an impact to life by this disease or any traumatic event that shifts our core and reality can bring. In this era, we have all in our own personal journeys become survivors, we are battling demons outside and within everyday and surviving them based on our own will to survive . Survivor ship teaches us that we are our own saviors -It makes you want to stand up and scream- I AM - The Hero of my own story..

An engineer, filmmaker, writer, musician, composer and founder of a nonprofit for children, took the top award at the 2019 NewsFest-True Stories film festival for “Best Human-Interest Story” with her passionate film, “Got Cancer!.” It is a story of children battling cancer in India. She returns this year with two movies as a director, writer & executive producer. “Got Cancer- Survivors Journey” is one of them . A film which is again being nominated for several human interest social film awards. A director/ producer that makes a film and ensures with her sensitive focused direction that the viewers globally will be moved to hear the voices brought forward and the protagonists will be the beneficiaries of all that is gained from these films & their impact.
The power of story telling is one that has touched us from the dark ages, even before we knew how to write or read perhaps. These stories were the basis of our culture , our traditions , our understanding of who we are as humans. We can see how connected we all are to each other in bonds we cannot fathom or view most of the times but when a story is heard we all in our humane ways react to them...This divine global power once felt is one that can create global impact. As someone who has worked with children all her life i feel this deep connection to how simple they view the most complicated things, how we must stop and listen to what they are trying to say rather than always try and teach them. The stories i found in this path just had to be told ...some stories are too pure and profound not to be shared...The hopeful and profound learning from my endless conversations with families , children and teachers globally as i traveled doing non profit work gave me these stories that are now coming onto the Reel...from the Real realms..I hope they touch all of you like they have moved me and my soul.
