Director Statement

I'm so grateful to be able to tell the extremely personal story of my friend's father. It's the kind of story that makes me feel like I'm bringing something significant and special to the screen.
Collaborating with Annie allowed details like the color palette to be symbolic. In Vietnamese culture, purple and white are the colors of death, which we felt were appropriate and representative for this film.
