When Morgan Smalley brought me her script for Good Dogs (which was originally a stage play!), I was instantly pulled into the wild concept of humans playing the roles of anxious and depressed dogs. What really sold it to me though, is how the tonal balance made me laugh, cry, and come to a realization that I have always been just a little too hard on myself.
Out of anything I've directed, this one feels like the perfect blend of collaboration between all of the artists involved. Not only are we all dog people, our styles also blend together so naturally. Thank you to the whole cast and crew, and a special thanks to Morgan who allowed my style to be placed onto her insightful and hilarious words. We hope you enjoy the film!
