Glock '45 the Movie

Glock ’45: The Movie is a music documentary about a local but steadily growing Dutch band that blends country, rock ’n’ roll and satire into a flamboyant stage spectacle. Behind the exaggerated American characters lies a close group of friends. The film follows their everyday realities: how they share good and bad times, gain friends, lose friends, write songs, do shows and live their life together on the road. All while exploring how satire, identity and performance collide in a polarized world. As the band searches for unity on stage and in the audience, the documentary asks what it means to build a family through music.

Director Biography - Lisa Hukker

Lisa Hukker (1996) is a documentary filmmaker based in the Netherlands. During her filmstudies she directed ‘Capsized’ (2021) and ‘Doodzwijgen’ (2023), which were both critically acclaimed. Lisa loves working with a bigger crew but she might be best off all alone with a small camera and sound equipment.

Glock ‘45 came to me with a problem: they take their hyper theatrical act so seriously, nobody knew who the people behind it were. I had the privilege to follow them around for a summer and got to unravel the real story of the band and the people who make it what it is. Glock ‘45 The Movie is a documentary about friendship and ambition, but doesn’t shy away from the moments those two don’t really go together.
