These gangs are manipulated by "The Six," a powerful group of oligarch families who control Haiti's economy and politics, profiting from the gangs' activities while maintaining a fragile truce to prevent all-out war. The narrative unfolds through several key events—a failed coup attempt, the assassination (or disappearance) of the president, and escalating gang warfare—revealing a web of corruption and betrayal. The overarching themes explore power, corruption, loyalty, betrayal, and the devastating consequences of systemic injustice on a nation. The purpose is to create a fictionalized account of Haiti’s complex sociopolitical landscape, illustrating the intertwined realities of gang violence, political instability, and the pervasive influence of powerful elites.
