GAMER the series
Sam, often misunderstood by the adults around him, uses his gamer imagination to control his perspective on the situations he finds himself in. Often this improves his experience despite the stress he feels, but sometimes he has to start over.

Silver, Best of Oregon | Nominee Best Series
Katie sees life as an exciting story - an adventure to be lived, and through her acting and filmmaking, invites people to see beauty and hope amid life’s ever-present challenges. Her directorial debut was for a very personal short film, “Front Porches,” inspired by her experience of caring for her mother after a diagnosis of early-onset dementia. Since, she's made GAMER a web series as well as working on her first feature film Wake Up Maggie. When she's not acting or directing, you'll find her practicing yoga, hiking with friends, learning tap dance, writing, and probably refilling her coffee.
Gamer is a story about perspective. I wanted to show through the Gamer's eyes how empowered we can be to improve our circumstances through our imagination. Like most of us, Gamer finds himself misinterpreted and misunderstood, but instead of getting discouraged, he turns it into a game to play. I wanted to show in this micro short, how much our perspective changes our own minds and the way we see by allowing our audience to see through Sam's mind. In a few short minutes, I hope it makes you laugh, but also feel inspired to lighten your own load with your imagination as well.
