Born in 1999 in Turkey, Furkan Han Mert got his start in the arts with the piano at the age of 13. He won the Second Prize at the Dudullu High School Art Contest with his first short film at the age of 16. He became the Turkish finalist for the DAWAP Short Film Festival at the age of 17. When he was 19, his short film "Incurable" was runner-up in "Short Film, Long Impact" competition organised by Sabancı Holding. Scoring most of his short films with his original piano compositions, Mert is a Udemy Instructor with a series of piano instruction videos.
