Director Biography - Thom Newell

Thom Newell has directed over a dozen shorts since moving to Los Angeles in 2010. He has also found a place in the horror scene here, having worked as an editor on Don Mancini's CHUCKY TV Series, four of the V/H/S anthology films (editing for David Bruckner, Flying Lotus, Chloe Okuno, and more), and cutting on both BRAND NEW CHERRY FLAVOR and EVIL.

Oddly, he also appeared as one of the Ghostface killers in SCREAM VI. He is not an actor.

Director Statement

As a filmmaker I am always trying to push boundaries and explore taboos. As an avid fan of werewolves, I thought to myself "What have I not seen this creature do onscreen?" The answer came to me quickly and I jotted it down as a four-page script. I then adapted the idea in to a comic that found success online during the COVID-19 pandemic. It took a few years, but when I was able to convince Radio Silence (the filmmakers behind READY OR NOT and SCREAM VI) to help me make this thing, I took this violent, satirical, sexual, and hilarious story and made a full-fledged short film out of it. I don't know what else to say except that I can very much guarantee you haven't seen something like this before.
