Experiencing Interruptions?

Frugalman

The man has a simple motto: I don't pay for nothin'.

He's in love with the girl next door, but can a guy who flinches at the cost of a paperclip really score a date? Watch Brandon navigate a world filled with more fees than friends, proving that sometimes, being frugal... I mean responsible, is a full time job.

We make good co-directors, cuz we're cheap.

Director Statement

When we set out to make this film, our goal was not to mock frugality itself (we love a good coupon). But there is a point where your fear of spending starts to cost you everything. On the other side of that, we live in a society overflowing with subscriptions, upgrades, upsells, convenience fees, and strong salespeople we try not to answer the door to (but end up hiring as actors. True story).

Frugalman lives in a world where every choice comes with a fee, and the harder he tries not to spend, the more life charges him anyway.

It’s both a cautionary tale about being cheap and a satire of a purchasing society that never stops asking for your credit card. We wrapped it in punk rock music and duct-taped it together with satire.

If this makes you laugh or consider that some things are worth paying for, then it worked. If not, I recommend purchasing the premium version of this director’s statement.
