From This Day Forth

"A renowned Danish actor reenacts his own heart attack, prompting a disturbing reflection on the mundane nature of everyday life and the fragility of existence."

On Tuesday, September 27, 2016, Danish actor Anders Hove died. Almost. On stage – and paradoxically during a performance of Samuel Beckett’s play ‘The Fall’ – the actor suddenly collapsed from a heart attack. But the Danish actor, known for his roles in such diverse films as ‘Nymphomaniac Vol. 1’ and ‘Winter Brothers’, cannot remember what happened that day, nor can he recall the feeling of hovering on the edge of darkness.

So he’s decided to give it another shot at home on his living room floor to see if it can jolt his mind and bring back the memory. ‘From This Day Forth’ is an original re-enactment of the heart attack that almost killed Anders Hove. A cinematic and unsettling reflection on the mundane nature of everyday life and the fragility of being.
