Writer Statement

This story means a lot to me because it’s loosely based on my own experience working as a grocery store cashier. During that time I met so many people from different walks of life but the moments that stayed with me were the quiet ones. The small exchanges that made me feel seen or that made someone else feel seen even just for a moment, impacted me the most.

The story follows a growing friendship between a grocery store cashier and a homeless man who’s been mistreated by the world around him. It’s a simple story but one that I think carries a lot of heart. It’s about empathy, human connection, and how small acts of kindness can make a real difference.

I’m really passionate about this project because I believe we need more stories like this. Stories about ordinary people and the everyday struggles so many go through. Stories that remind us to slow down and care a little more. I truly believe this film can have an impact because at its core it’s about hope and the kind of friendship that helps people keep going even when life is hard.
