Director Biography - Brad Gilbertson

Brad Gilbertson is a solo, independent, multi award-winning Filmmaker from Adelaide, South Australia. Gilbertson founded his production company, BGVC in 2017 - a pivot from commercial video production to original films. 'Still Standing' (Documentary) is Gilbertson's first feature length film.

Director Statement

In 'F R E E' I have used progressive colour to evolve with the story, it should feel cold, lonely and hopeless as the story begins, growing warmer as the viewer leaves this cold world and briefly enters the imagination of the young girl. I can't overstate how well Ailish Jean ('young girl') was able to portray the emotions and thoughts of the character. Her ability to interpret the direction of each scene was exceptional.
