Director Statement

On a stormy day earlier in January, I mounted a GoPro camera to the bird feeder pole by our front porch, to film the bird activity. When I finally had some time to look through the footage, my cats, MoJo and Ms. Peebles jumped up on my desk, completely captivated by what they saw and heard. I grabbed my iPhone and filmed them for several moments, as they sat there, watching and watching, sometimes reaching out with a paw, or sniffing the screen. The bird ambience was mixed from a sound recording I made that day using a pair of Rode Wireless Go II microphones placed near the bird feeder, tucked inside of a recycling box, to keep them dry. I'm not sure what I'll do with all my stormy day GoPro bird footage, but for now, the cats love watching it set to loop on the computer monitor, and if they're happy, I'm happy!
