Fortune For All © 2023

Three Caribbean siblings are reunited by the death of their eldest brother, one of the first fatalities from a mystery illness sweeping their island. Marooned on the family’s coastal estate for a period of isolation, they begin talking after years of silence.

A tender ode to the radio plays of the director’s childhood in the Caribbean of the 1970s.

Director Statement

'Fortune For All' offers the rarest of glimpses into the world of the Caribbean middle class and the resonance of its rich language.
The Caribbean has often been fetishized on-screen as gansta, ganja, ghetto etc despite myriad other worlds occupying the archipelago.
In the weeks that follow their brother's death, the Fortune siblings experience a catharsis, revisiting old haunts, lost loves and secret aches in this treatise on ordinary Afro-Saxon life.
Here, I am pushing the boundaries of how much the drama can be pared down in my attempt to express mundanity as part of Caribbean existence.
This is my bold statement, that ordinary can be compelling if you listen closely.
