Robert Sallin - Director/Co-Writer
Mr. Sallin has been active as a producer and director for over 40 years, moving between motion
pictures, television and advertising. His credits as a feature film producer include Star Trek II:
The Wrath of Khan for Paramount. As a feature film director, he directed Albert Finney and
Yvette Mimieux in Picasso Summer for Warner Brothers. Mr. Sallin has also developed
numerous feature film projects for various studios. A few of these were an Eddie Murphy project
for Paramount, a Richard Dreyfuss project for Columbia, and two John Candy films for
Paramount and Tri-Star. Among the many other notables Mr. Sallin has directed are Bill Cosby,
Jack Lemmon, Albert Finney, Tom Selleck, Cliff Robertson, Carol Burnett, Farrah Fawcett,
Rodney Dangerfield, Carrol O’Connor, Teri Garr, Cindy Williams, Penny Marshall, Joan Rivers,
James Mason, Dana Andrews, Edgar Bergen and Vincent Price.
In advertising, Mr. Sallin has directed and produced nearly 2000 commercials for national and
international clients such as MCA/Universal, RCA, Coca-Cola, General Motors, United Airlines,
H.J. Heinz, Ford, Procter & Gamble, Toyota, Union Oil, and Bank of America. He has also been
a Senior Vice President of a major international advertising agency, supervising the creation and
production of over 1000 commercials for major clients. Mr. Sallin is the recipient of over 50 top
awards in national and international television advertising competitions, including the CLIO for
the Most Humorous Commercial of the Year, and the Grand Prix at the Venice Film Festival for
the outstanding commercial worldwide.
He has been a member of the Directors Guild of America since 1966
