Forgiveness

Born in Osmaniye, Turkey in 1995. Studied Computer Science in Bilkent University, Ankara. Seeds of the idea of becoming a filmmaker were sown during this period. It was very obvious that I was feeling most myself somewhere close to films since my favourite place in the whole campus was the film section in the library. Being around the films of Bergman, Bresson, Scorsese, Kiarostami, Fassbinder, Kurosawa and dear Stanley Kubrick was eye opening yet so terrifying to see the greatness as a young man who wanted to be part of this. Then moved to Istanbul and eventually Amsterdam, Netherlands. And here I made my first film Forgiveness with the help Open Filmmaking Network. I just want to make movies about being faulty, being perfect, being human.

Forgiveness is about the need of redemption and carrying the weight of past mistakes.
