For Better Land

After leaving the SEE conservation in Alxa, the most influential environmental organization in China, Ma Yanwei came to Alxa League which is covered by deserts in Inner Mongolia and set his own "For Better Land" farm. He upholds the concept of ecological protection and promotes ecological agriculture in desert regions. He also faced pressure and temptation after years of losses due to the low yields of crops without pesticides and fertilizers, which required a lot of labor. Ma Yanwei rejected charitable donations, but sought a break-even balance of the ecological economy itself. He hopes to choose and cultivate crops suitable for growing in the desert through his own practice and experiments, to complete his ideals, and to explore a sustainable development path for the long-term advancement of ecological agriculture.
