Che Ortiga is a Trans, Latine, Gay, multi-medium talent. He is singer, songwriter, actor, director and published Poet with Bottle Cap Press with his premiere poetry chapbook, En Todos Los Mundos. Che resides with his cat and rescue-rabbits in Ohlone Huichin lands of so-called Oakland, CA.
Turnback Boyz is a time-traveling boyband music project created by Max Voltage as an offshoot of their self-written, directed, and produced musical: 'Homomentum'. This band has been a collaboration for the last 10 years with these magnificent queers. Back in 2014 we created our Turnback Boyz characters, I knew I needed to give a nod to my Tejano ancestors as a broody, guitar-playing, vaquero. This blossomed into the inspiration to create a queer cuntry song to help define who Oliver Gold is. Pulling from half-written poems, writing original music, and Max composing the fiddle part, Fool's Gold was born in 2015. Finally, in the summer of 2023 we collaborated with Adam Sweeney (our incredible videographer/editor and music producer) to create this music video, filmed on the Columbia and Washougal Rivers in the Pacific Northwest. It pulls from my own journey through depression, heartbreak, and finding my way through sheer insistence to be with and move through the grief of life. I hope it brings you some comfort in this world, knowing we're golden and we're gonna be fine.
