Director Biography - Karina Sorelli

Karina Sorelli, originally from France, moved to Australia to follow her passion for filmmaking. She started out as an actor and stunt performer, but quickly found herself drawn to producing, discovering a new love for the work behind the scenes. From writing and self-producing her own projects to fulfilling her dream of directing, Karina is relentless in her pursuit of her goals. Her ultimate dream is to work alongside Clint Eastwood.

Director Statement

As a filmmaker, I am drawn to stories that explores Human connections. Inspired by movies like "Crash" by Paul Haggis and, my personal life and observations on how we are "watching" our lives nowadays more than living them. This short film examines the impact social media has on us through the lens of our lead, Sofia and how it impacts her life. I wanted it to be as raw and as truthful as it can be even if some might find it...shocking.
