As a director, Flora Cullerne Bown (b.1996) is intrigued by the myriad ways we can relate to our surroundings; public or intimate, urban or rural. Her work engages particularly with experiences of place rooted in the sensory and poetic. These concerns are reflected in her film-making methods - often incorporating various mediums such as writing, sewing, drawing and animating within her films. She works both alone and collaboratively, making films, installations and leading filmmaking workshops in public spaces.
She is a recent graduate of the Graduate Diploma in Fine Art at Goldsmiths, London, where she currently lives and works from. In 2021 she completed studies in Experimental Filmmaking at MetFilm School in Berlin.
