Chris J. Allan is a filmmaker and film lecturer, this year he has also co-curated the Filmhouse Sunderland project as well as hosting the weekly film screenings.
Following several years of being part of the Sunderland Short Film Festival team as a reviewer and programmer, Chris has become the Coordinator of the 2020 festival taking place this October at the Empire Cinema, Sunderland.
As one half of media company Wycombe 89, Chris has worked as a filmmaker across a number of productions from music videos, live events and corporate work, as well as directing the short films Big Pink Dress and First Date of the Dead which will soon be appearing on the film festival circuit.
Last year Chris graduated from the Film Theory and Practice Masters course at Newcastle University and currently teaches Film and Media Studies at South Tyneside College.
An imagined post-apocalyptic world with a rom-com twist filmed before the 2020 lockdown. We however didn't imagine that post-production would be taking place during a real pandemic!
This film was a real labour of love for me after years spent loving the work of George A. Romero. This re-imagining of the zombie film was independently made and kindly pulled together with a lot of thanks and favours during my Masters course at Newcastle University.
Don't hesitate to get in touch if you have any further questions. DCP file available upon request.
Thank you for your time,
Chris J. Allan
