Jenna is a Los Angeles native who studied theater, comedy, and screenwriting in Chicago. She attended Columbia College Chicago, originally majoring in broadcast journalism with a minor in theater. Her journalism professors didn't appreciate her "emotional connection" to stories, and that's when she swapped minor for major.
She was accepted to the Comedy Studies program at The Second City Chicago during her junior year of college and from there fell in love with writing comedy. After graduation, she was signed to a talent agency and accepted into Second City's competitive Conservatory program and screenwriting classes. She has performed all over Chicago on stages, including The Goodman Theater, Theater Wit, and Rivendell.
Jenna has always felt a gravitational pull toward television and film but became frustrated with the roles she's asked to audition for. Due to her raspy voice and small stature, she's typecast as the following: drug addict, missing daughter, girlfriend with a secret or pregnant drug addict whose baby is hanging out of her by the umbilical cord, (true story, but unfortunately did not book). Tired of waiting around for an empowering female role, she decided to take matters into my own hands and started writing these roles herself.
She is currently the writer of "Nannyhood," "Scrappy, Inc.," "First-Timer's," and "Great Awakening." She recently moved back to Los Angeles to pursue screenwriting full time.
