Director Statement

Accidents happen, but they don’t define you.
Beyond the physical scars, my film Finger Paint reflects on the quiet faith, humility, love, and perseverance it takes to heal when movement and certainty are gone.

As a filmmaker and visual artist, I wanted to create a film that interlocks both mediums to convey beauty in adversity. Through Darius’ heartfelt commentary, and authenticity of the BIPOC handicapped community and veteran communities, we are immediately immersed in the frame as if he is speaking directly to us in the room. Finger Paint reveals how strength can emerge from stillness.
