Experiencing Interruptions?

Finding balance on Rocky ground

"Rise up shepherd, rise up
Your flock has roamed far from the hills
The stars have faded, the sky is still
We've been traveling over rocky ground, rocky ground
We've been traveling over rocky ground, rocky ground
There's a new day coming..."
Bruce Springsteen

The last two years she started her own filming experimentations and performance creations which embrace Theatre, Poetry, Literature, Dance and Radio Art.
Her love for nature drove her art to unexpected paths in order to find ways to combine her vision with a natural way of life. At the moment she works on that perspective while her online performances, films and artworks travel in different countries, festivals and exhibitions as the Avatar Center (60sec Radio) and Porcovete Pictures in Canada, UNU – Flores in Dresden, International Multimedia Art Festival in Serbia, Verti Films in Prague and On the Rocks Film festival in Italy. Her latest live performance, "Σ.Ω.Π.Α.", was presented at SOZOPOLIS in Athens.
The experimental short film «Dancing in the Silence» from the «TERRACE PROJECT» was hosted at Bibart’s Biennale Internazionale D’Arte di Bari and received an honourable mention from the Navajo Film Festival.
During 2020 she was collaborating with The Museum of Dead Words in Brooklyn / NY – the Online Series, interpreting the word EVIL through the performance «The Fight Within».
She is an official member of CID (International Council of Dance - Unesco) since 2018 and also a writer having published her own e – books on the web.
Her vision is to reconnect theatre with its natural roots, to experiment and explore the primitive idea in an open, natural space.

Director Statement

I was attracted to Theatre from a very young age so it was a one- way road for me.
Whatever I create has to do with Theatre as it composes the essential Art in the constellation of my mind. [Cinematography came during the quarantine as the only way to communicate and it turned out to be love at first sight.]

Later on, I met the Art of Isadora Duncan and got involved with many artistic ways and genres of Art and Dramaturgy crossroading with other individuals' inspirations and teachings. Some of them are Karolos Koun (Theatro Technis, Greece), Hellenic Choreodrama (Zouzou Nikoloudi, Rallou Manou), Theatre du Soleil, Grotowski Institute, Odin Teatret, the cultures of all the ancient tribes around the world as well as world philosophy and a desire to learn the body mechanism as wholeness of body - mind - spirit (<νοῦς, noûs).

I was initiated in researching and deepening into the human soul as a way to express and interpret the Archetypes throughout the soul history of the human being by numerous exceptional people : actors, activists, writers, artists, travellers, musicians or just simple men and women.

Having this "backpack" I feel the urge and responsibility to continue this receiving and giving of knowledge and inspiration as the only way to be and become an essential change in the world. ("Be the Change you want to see in the World" - Gandhi). I strongly believe in a change and I don't compromise with something less than my ideals.

So, I am on the way with my camera, notebook and thoughts, with my poems, my masks, dances and dreams... I contain multitudes as Bob Dylan said and I am sure you do, too.

Hope to meet you on the road!

Stay cool,
Alkistis
